CONSTRUCTION ESTIMATOR/PROJECT MANAGER

JOB SUMMARY

The Construction Estimator/Project Manager provides and/or coordinates full estimating services and project management on projects and contracts. The Estimator/Project Manager shall follow up on the coordination of estimates, procurement, and subcontracting with the actual construction.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Review and incorporate historical data from purchase orders, subcontracts, productivity analysis reports, etc. into unit and man-hour figures.
  • Review proposal specifications and drawings and attend pre-bid meetings, etc. to determine scope of work and required estimate contents.
  • Provide complete conceptual (or bid work) and final estimating input on projects.
  • Provide technical support to personnel preparing discipline estimates for assigned bids.
  • Ensure that all working documents and data are maintained to back up estimate figures.
  • Assist contracting department during preparation of inquiries and final evaluation of submitted bids as required.
  • Track awarded contracts required. May include estimating/pricing extra work items, change orders, credit, procuring materials, etc.
  • Interface with owner and other contractors to provide engineering and cost data regarding project feasibility.
  • Perform additional assignments as directed by supervision.


QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS


  • Field experience as an Estimator/Project Manager is desirable.
  • Strong math and analytical skills with an eye for detail.
  • Proficiency with computer software used in the construction industry.
  • Solid oral and written communication skills.
  • Organizational and supervisory skills.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to multitask.
